Shubin has written in the past a theology and a commentary on the Bible, compiled a 4-volume History of Russian Christianity, and books on philosophy and religion. Dan was a conscientious objector during the Vietnam War (as was his father during World War 2) and also acts as an advisor for military-age young men of his denomination. He has been married 41 years to wife AnnaMarie, and they have 3 adult offspring.
