Evans from J C Squire 1918'. Frederick H. Evans was an English photographer, best known for his images of architectural subjects, such as English and French cathedrals. A limited edition work, being number 39 of 500 copies produced, and signed by the author to the limitation leaf. In the publisher's original unclipped dust wrapper. Illustrated with vignette woodcuts, with a photographic portrait of the author mounted as a frontispiece. With two newspaper clippings about the author loosely inserted. A collection of eleven short stories from the writer, and editor of the 'London Mercury'. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, fine. Inscription to front free endpaper. Dust wrapper back strip age toned, with significant spotting to fore edge of front wrap. Two significant closed tears to the centre of the back strip, with a small hole to the back strip tail, and a small loss to the back strip head. Small hole to the centre of the front wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Spotting to title page, and frontispiece perimeters. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright. Very Good Indeed.
