Preached over the course of the six Sundays in Lent (2005) as part of an interim pastorate, Slemmons chose this method as a way of covering large portions of Scripture with some thoroughness over a relatively compressed period of time. An example of what he terms in the Introduction "reiterative exposition," these sermons were preached in conjunction with his designing Year D, a lectionary expansion proposal that calls for, among other things, a greater role for lectio continua and/or semi-continuous methods of text selection.
