T is now about forty years since Mr. Robinson conceived the plan for the present work which was not fully matured under 30 years. The curious reader will readily discover that the intricacies of Casting interest, especially for days are by this method reduced to simple rules, and rendered extremely easy for persons of the most ordinary Capacity. It is believed that for accuracy and utila ity in this branch of business, the present work has not been equalled by any former publication. The table for compue ting time by days accompanying this work is ofgreat value, for a variety of purposes. This table has been added by the junior Mr. Robinson, who has also had an important agency in the arrangement of this work, and who is well qualified for the business, being an acknowledged proficient in math ematitis, and having spent much time in teaching, 850.
