Seller's Description:
Wallace Smith. Very Good (Minus). No Jacket. 8vo-over 7¾"-9¾" tall. An early work by the famed Holywood screenwriter, a murder mystery. This is a Very Good (Minus) copy of the First Edition. Linen cloth binding with titling and decorations in black on the spine and front cover. Clean text; 256 pages; frontis and four other black-and-white illustrations by Wallace Smith. Pencil signatures and notation on the endpapers. Spine is slightly darkened and there is a small tear to the upper, which does affect the title; top a bit dusty. Basically a sound copy, despite these named defects. And a good read!
