What a wonderful book. It may be 29 years old, but the subject matter still shines. As a lover of silent films, this has been a treasure trove of information as most of the 75 movies covered are from the silent era. Each movie that is covered has credits, cast and a brief synopsis. You Are There - 1920s Movies
The photos in this book (of black and white silent films) - are the very best! You see right up close the stars and scenes - and the author's comments are clear, informative, and enjoyable. Only Deems Taylor's book rivals this one, on the 1920s movies. In those days they didn't need dialogue to get the story across and hold you spellbound. Every scene passed dramatically before your eyes. So get this book!
