In this groundbreaking book, Dr Louann Brizendine describes the uniquely flexible structure of the female brain and its constant, dynamic state of change - the key difference that separates it from that of the male - and reveals how women think, what they value, how they communicate, and whom they'll love. She also reveals the neurological explanations behind why...a woman remembers fights that a man insists never happened...thoughts about sex enter a woman's brain once every couple of days but enter a man's brain about once every minute...women use about 20,000 words each day, while a man uses roughly 7,000...a woman's brain goes on high alert during pregnancy - and stays that way long after giving birth...a woman over 50 is more likely to initiate divorce than a man...women tend to know what people are feeling, while men can't spot an emotion unless someone cries or threatens them with bodily harm! Accessible, compelling, and based on more than three decades of research, "The Female Brain" will help women to better understand themselves - and the men in their lives.

This is a great book for those men who say they do not understand women. It is written from a women's point of view in a language that all could understand. A must read for all.

Must Read
This is an easy to read source for a lot of information about the human brain, and the distinct differences between the female brain and the male brain. She seems very honest about the medical understanding of the human brain and how her experiences as a psychiatrist relate to them.
EVERY male should read this, preferably before he considers marriage. (Did I emphasize that enough? EVERY MALE!) Women should read this so that they can understand why we are so different.
Not only is it easy to read, it's fun to read.
Men, you will discover that the things you suspect are true about women, though they will deny it, ARE TRUE! Dr. Brizendine gives you the physiological reasons why.
The back of the book says something like "Men, get ready to have brain envy." After reading this I can't think of anything that would persuade me that I'd rather have a female brain!
At least I now understand females a better. Notice I didn't say I understand them, it's just better.
