Seller's Description:
Some fading of cloth. Very Good, likely issued without a dustwrapper. Cloth. Of a total of 1500 copies, this is one of only 300 hardbound and in addition is one of the first 50 copies SIGNED by the poet on the colophon page. It is also INSCRIBED and SIGNED at length by the author on the half-title page to the poet William Meredith: "for William--what to say, but let me say it before the/16 poets begin. We've been in/this a long time, you and I--/and 16 is too many! --but/we're both pretty good, aren't/we? All best, Bill/Reed/5-9-84." Laid in is a program for a May 9th evening in honor of Whittemore at which 16 poets, including Senator Eugene McCarthy, gave testimonials.
