I have owned three copies of this book and I always try to have one on hand. A far cry from the Vampire Chronicles, this book is about the lives of a New Orleans based family in the 1800's. Anne Rice takes you to the New Orleans of that time- I felt as if I were actually there, and knew the characters personally. Full of exciting drama, this book is definitely worth reading....it will draw you in and make you wish it didn't have to end.
