Francis Wilson, a comic actor, and Eugene Field, a wonderful poet, met and became fast friends. Francis lived in NYC, and Eugene lived in Chicago and wrote humorous newspaper columns. They maintained their friendship by letters and by visits. They also wrote privately printed small books to each other as gifts. Sadly, Eugene died young in 1895 at 45. This book is Francis' tribute to his close friend, Eugene.
Field is famous for his poems, Wynken Blynken and Nod, Little Boy Blue, The Duel, and many others beloved by children.
