Art Nouveau floral head and tail pieces, and floral borders around title page by Lucia Mathews. Original gilt-decorated and lettered cream boards, red leather spine label. Owner's inscription on blank flyleaf, spine label lightly chipped, spine darkened, boards soiled. Overall, a very good copy, internally fine, uncut. Essays about San Francisco and its environs. The frontispiece is after a painting by Arthur F. Mathews; decorations by Lucia Mathews. The mounted photographic plates include the Farallones, Russian Hill, Prayer Book Cross and the Golden Gate.
