Beyond this, however, we have little to help us understand how to foster good relationships other than the advice of our family and friends whose soap-opera lives leave us wondering about the veracity of their wisdom. Thus, our relationships become a learn-as-we-go-spiraling-into-the-abyss proposition. But somehow over time we do learn. So, in order to alleviate the pain of this often lengthy learning curve, I have written this book as a field guide to help those of you who are unsure of who to turn to regarding our often difficult and embarrassing relationship concerns.
