Missing Link
I started reading Goran Sonnevi with Rika Lesser's A Child Is Not a Knife and went onto Mozart's Third Brain (which just came out and is amazing).
It's uncanny how pitch perfect her versions are, but it's also refreshing to step back and read this which is earlier work - and the first to appear in English.
Robert Bly's versions are crisp (as always), his intro is brief, informative and very felt.
One thing on that - I always associate Robert Bly with the sixties (not to discount his later work) - and I'm pretty sure that's when at least some of The Economy... was written. So there's a "witnessed" feel to the translations.
For a slim book it has a lasting effect and gives a clue to how the later work would grow and mold into a vision. One of the clearest (in any language) around now.
