Dr. Gerstner had a brief pastorate, but soon accepted a position as a professor of church history at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary where he continued to teach until 1980. Dr. Gerstner was one of the most astute theologians of this century, having thoroughly digested the theology of Jonathan Edwards. One of his students was R.C. Sproul, who popularized and advanced what Dr. Gerstner stood for. These men developed the Ligonier Valley Study Center, from which came Ligonier Ministries, Tabletalk, and the national radio show "Renewing Your Mind."
