This book will be enjoyed by everyone who read Helene Hanff's book, "84 Charring Cross Road". Her account of visiting the bookstore in England after years of writing to the owner and being involved in the lives of all in the shop , and his family during the post war years. The movie they made of those events was also terrific.

Beautiful, Lovely, Hilarious
For anyone who read 84 Charing Cross Road and was disappointed it was so short. This follow up is wonderful in its own right, though I would recommend reading 84 first to get a feel for the characters. Hanff?s descriptions are always straight from the heart, making them sometimes beautifully poignant and sometimes down right rude (but so funny). It is a wonderfully true Cinderella story in which Cinderella knows she will have to go back to normal life, making her experiences all the more delightful. Hanff describes the perfect tour of London and the surrounding countryside for lovers of English literature and history. A perfect read for Anglophiles, Bibliophiles, and travel journal readers.
