She shoots and scores, Ms. Kenyon did it again!!!
Despite everything that has been said in reviews, she amazed me again with this novel in a new Hunter-world.
The Dream Hunters caught my attention in previous Dark Hunter novels and the anthology Phantom Lover. An entire world on its own, an entire different scenery and a new set of rules to follow and yet still has everything to do with the Dark Hunter world. This story takes place in Greece and makes us travel through and to the legend of Atlantis. If you?re expecting a Dark Hunter novel than this book will take you to surprise but the quality of writing and emotional ride equals said novels!
The feel of the book and story is more ethereal but I love it. Sherrilyn proves yet again that she?s capable of doing what she does best and that?s creating a whole new world within this world. I can imagine some readers aren?t able to keep up/keep track of everything that is connected within this Hunter-world because it?s all very complex and maybe there for the reviews are less than expected but trust me a bad review doesn?t do this book justice at all. My romantic heart is fulfilled after reading this book because the love between Arikos and Megeara was wonderful! As well as the love that comes from the friends and family all around her.
The characters yet again amazed me. They so fit perfectly within the setting of this world where dreams rule it all. Tory and Thia are captured within my heart and I just know we?ll be seeing them further on. When I first read that we would meet Ash?s heroin in this book I thought it would have spoiled his novel a bit ? which is released at the end of this year (as we know of now) ? but God Sherrilyn has still left me clueless on who it should be as so many female characters pass in this book. Ofcourse I have my thoughts and theories on it but trust me if you want to pinpoint her it, there?s no chance at all to know for sure. And I?m glad about it to be honest.
I just love the fact that so many Gods and Goddesses pass in this book. She uses them brilliantly and let?s us show some other sides to them. And Apollymi is just great in her own way and I have to say now that I?ve seen her other side, she is definitely capturing my heart! And slowly things come together and shows how thin the line is that faith has woven things together with. And how delicate the Gods actually are!
And OMG the first time Acheron was mentioned in this book my heart fluttered and then purred ? ahhh ? my long lost Ash has returned! That one small sentence he was mentioned made me want to devour this book and read on and on and on, just to see if he was mentioned just once more. Who knew I liked Ash?????
A new race was born as well Chtonians (don?t get your knickers in a twist) only reading that word made my tongue get in a knot but after a few times it does get better though! Ofcourse they are even more sarcastic than anyone else, because well let?s face it, they have to be!

Hugely Disappointing
I bought this book for one reason - it was written by Ms. Kenyon and I love her D-H Books, her K.McGregor series and her Lords of Avalon series. Perhaps Ms. Kenyon is spreading herself too thin. I couldn't believe I was reading Ms. Kenyon's novel! She is a very prolific writer and now doing a comic book. Ms.Kenyon devoted almost 5 chapters to the character development of Geary (our female love interest) and only a paragraph with a sprinkling of sentences here and there about Arik, the Dream Hunter. I was sick of reading the first few chapters about Geary, and her family and how they had died searching for Atlantis. There was absolutely NO HEAT, NO SPARK AND NO SIGN OF LIFE created between these characters AT ALL! Somewhat like this story. Ms. Kenyon is more than capable of creating spicy, hot love! There were also very few flashbacks used to help us to get to know more about Arik, which is something that adds to her stories. The only interesting part was toward the end of the book when Ash and some of the other gods made an appearance. Thank the Gods! This books was as dull and dead as the ancient city of Atlantis they were looking for! I gave it one star only, for Ms. Kenyon having the guts to write a novel that should not have been written. I won't be buying the next book in this series until I have read the reviews. Then I will buy it used.
