The Door Within is a heart warming tale of a frustrated and lonely teen experiencing a world and life beyond his. The wisdom sprinkled throughout the book about the "King", and trials Adian experiences is not ground breaking, but it is pithy and something we can all benefit from a reminder of. The Door Within is a solid fantasy book I can recommend to all middleschool and junior high readers.

Amazing!
When I first started reading this book, I thought it would be dumb and boring. Now it is one of my favorite books!! The plot is intriguing, the characters realistic, and the world Wayne Thomas Batson creates is incredible. I read this book in just a few days because I could not put it down! The way Mr. Batson writes makes you feel as if you were really in the story! I would recommend this book for everyone!

The Door Within
Ruined... That's how Aidan Thomas feels after the surprise move from Maryland to Colorado, everything he knows is now on the other side of the country, this is what led him to explore his grandfathers basement one summer day, in it he finds three scrolls with a wonderful story of another world, called The Realm. A world of knights, glimpses and strange beasts. After Aidan reads the scrolls he enters the door within and starts off on some amazing adventures. Called by King Eliam to be the twelfth knight on an expedition to Mitheguard, Aidan and his glimpse friend Gwenne finally reach the city after being separated from the company by a Tempest. Already there are some of the enemy's knights hoping to convince the city to join their master, Paragor. Now Aidan finds himself alone, battling hoards of the enemy and seeking out a deadly creature called a Mortiwraith. Against all odds Aidan pulls off a victorious strategy, and with the help of King Eliam, destroys the army of Paragory.

Excellent Christian Fiction!
The Door Within is a Christian fantasy book, written in the allegorical style of The Chronicles of Narnia, but with a modern twist. Young Aidan Thomas, the main character, is about to enter high school when he discovers three mysterious scrolls in his basement. They beckon him to another world of knights, dragons, and war, and he finds himself wrapped up in a dangerous mission: to save the kingdom of Mithegard from the evil clutches of Paragory.
The book is filled with action, mystery, and peril, and I found it impossible to put down. Christians will love the clear allegory and good Biblical messages, and any reader will enjoy the nail-biting, page-turning suspense that keeps you up late at night; waiting to find out what happens next. This was the first fantasy book I ever read, and after reading The Door Within I became a huge fan of the genre. I highly recommend this book!

Adventures are funny things...
The Door Within is an allegorical semi-contemporary Christian fantasy fiction in which are many moral themes. It is the first in the Door Within trilogy, written by Wayne Thomas Batson.
The Door Within begins after a family has moved, and their son, Aidan Thomas, is upset about leaving friends and familiar surroundings. He becomes bored and explores their new basement, in which appears scrolls bearing a captivating history of a land called Alleble. Aidan consults his Grampin, who informs him about the land, stating that it is real and he could believe by finding a key within, by imagining crossing a rope bridge across a bottomless chasm to a door. After entering the door in his mind?s eye, it becomes all too real and he ends up in the evil land of Paragory, named after it?s ruler, Paragor. He is rescued from the evil mountain on which he appeared, and is taken to Alleble, where he finds he has been chosen to be the twelfth knight in a diplomatic group destined for Mithegard, to persuade them to ally with Alleble, before they side with Paragor.
The book was written in a very captivating manner, cliffhangers at the end of almost every chapter, and many fantastical elements incorporated into this mythical world. The explanation of scripture and the decision of men is a very clear link to the Bible and Jesus Christ?s sacrifice.
