Although the Domesday survey of South Lancashire (between Ribble and Mersey is closely attached to that of Cheshire, it is not included here, because it has been dealt With by Dr. Farrer in the first volume of the Vz'ciorz'a Hz'siom/ of Me Coum'y of'lcmmsfer.
