This book is interesting at first. One can view how DuMaurier's writing matured and the beginnings of what became her most famous novel "Rebecca". However, after reading "The Doll" an intiguing read with a disturbing ending, the balance of the short stories seem to end abruptly as though unfinished, as though the author intended to come back and write an actual ending. These are disappointing.
