No Nelson collection is complete without them. Volume III covers the period from January 1798 to August 1799.; In these 20 months, Nelson won the first of his great victories, destroying the French fleet at the battle of the Nile and ending Bonaparte's ambitions in Egypt. But his prolonged stay at Naples after the battle, when his affair with Emma Hamilton really began, came close to destroying the reputation he had so recently won.
