I love any entertaining book of history and this deals with a period of time I know little. The history involved in the story is accurate (I love it) but the life and times of the central, fictional folks is interesting, humorous <at times>, suspenseful and enjoyable throughout. I have recommended all of Sharan Newman's book to family and friends and they too have found them to be entertaining.
