Indeed that is the favorite tepic of every writer on political economy. Every man to his trade, and if the trade can be subdivided into many specialties, then every man to his specialty. I was in the celebrated manufactory of steel pens of Mr. Gillett, and saw that it required the labor of thirty men and women to contribute to the making of this implement. Each one was skillful in his part, and this part was perfectly done, and this subdivision of labor and skill gave increased wages and value to the work of each laborer, secured a fortune to the owners, and a perfect pen to the world.
