This is a tale of a family and a ranch; a story of a the Cross Hatch Ranch which had fallen on hard times, and of a family of brothers; and as with any family, a disagreement sparked by Curt Ramsey's late wife had run the other brothers, Jesse and Boone, off the place. Now, crippled himself, Curt needs help, and he has no one to turn to except his alienated brothers. Will they come help? I won't reveal any more of the plot, but I will say this: Ray Hogan has done an excellent job in creating a scenario not unlike what could really have happened, and resolved the situation is realistic and sensible fashion. Get this book, I endorse it greatly.
