We live in a generation where loyalty to leadership is rare. The term "Sonship" has often been used to describe the adjutant, armor-bearer, or close servant to leadership. While Sonship includes these roles, it is not limited to them. In this book, we take a deeper look at the concept of Sonship through the eyes of a true son. Throughout the Bible, we see the vital importance of the role of the son within the family. Yet today, we find a generation filled with what can be described as "functioning bastards" or "unfathered sons"-individuals who believe they can impact an entire generation without accountability to a single, authoritative voice. They think that by having multiple leaders, whom they affectionately call "Mother" and "Father," they are somehow exempt from the divine and biblically grounded principle of Sonship. These individuals use their gifts to align with leaders who do not challenge them to grow or mature, hiding in the shadows of larger organizations to avoid submission to someone who can confront them on their methods in ministry. Sonship, however, is not an outdated concept-rather, it is a practice that has been neglected due to rebellion. Sonship is not about convenience; it is about covenant. This book furthers the conversation about what it truly means to live in Covenant Sonship. - Pastor D. Walder
