Seller's Description:
None. Good. A collection of poetry by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, including the 1858 narrative poem The Courtship of Miles Standish. Set against the backdrop of a fierce Indian war, the tale focuses on a love triangle between three Pilgrims: Miles Standish, Priscilla Mullens, and John Alden. Longfellow claimed the story was true, but the historical evidence is inconclusive. Nevertheless, the ballad was very popular in nineteenth-century America, immortalizing the Mayflower Pilgrims. With numerous engraved vignette illustrations throughout. In a brown cloth binding. Externally sound, though with some light rubbing to the extremities. Internally, generally firmly bound although slightly strained in places. Pages have ome scattered light spotting throughout. Good.
