The list of drawing was, as a matter of course, read over; betting was, in the absence of bookmakers, confined to owners backing their nominations, which was done very spiritedly, but not to an excessively large amount. On Tuesday we commenced at the village of Pitinaine, and coursed the low ground and the moor, finishing at the bottom of Swait's Hill. Caledonian St. Leger.--Cromdale and Tornado took separate hares, and had each a long course, when Tornado was drawn. Shrapnell led Convivareno and made first two turns, after which Convivareno won a long course very well. Waterloo, in consequence of Shandy Gaff having been left in by mistake, ran a rather long bye. Cardinal York led, and beat John Mildmay in a long course, at all points. Longrange served Colonel M'Bain in the same manner. Bernard led, and, in a short, merry course, beat Snow. Short Oddsand Joe Lovell: Joe led out of slips, but was passed before reaching the hare, and was well beaten in a fair trial. Slogan led Clyde, and, inrather a long race, had much the best of it. Picton led Sweep, and made first turn; Sweep then got in and made a succession of close, clever points, when, in a stretch, Picton passed, and killed too soon to counterbalance the points made by Sweep. Claverhouse led Speed, and had much the best of a long course. Percy led Crusader, and made a few points, Crusader then doing a little, when Percy got in again and went out of my sight. Joe Nelligan and Wrestler: Joe made the first two turns, and in attempting to kill fell, when Wrestler got in, and in a long straggling course won. Razor led, and easily disposed of Major Molle in an average length of course. Diana Vernon showed the speed of Sweeper, ..
