Sam later discovers who they are and that Sunnyvale is being used to launder their illegal funds. Anthony DiGiovani, seething from the ignominy of his defeat and fully aware of the SPG's affiliation seeks to avenge himself by informing the authorities. He places a call to the District Attorneys Office for New York but as he is about to divulge his information, he realizes that he is putting his life at risk and ends the call. He feels certain that the Mafia is aware of his attempt to inform and terrified he goes into hiding.Although both men have completely different agendas, they realize that their best protection is their knowledge about the SPG, in fact this one thing above all others serves as their contingency factor.
