Ub domaine spacieux de trente milles d'etendue, tres bien boise, offre une retraite abondante au gibier de toute espece. Le palais n'a, en lui-meme, rien de tres remarquable. Les trophees du roi Ferdinand et de ses sylvestres compagnons, sont visibles partout, sous la forme de tetes de cerfs et de defenses de sangliers, chacun portent le nom des heros dont les prouesses en firent partie du butin. Les bois de la chasse offrent une carriere a differentes excursions agreables. Ils sont entrecoupes par un large sentier de plusieurs milles de longueur, et bordes par de petits ruisseaux. On trouve dans le bois un grand nombre de trouees, qui dans des circonstances favorables offrent des scenes qui ne sont pas indignes du pinceau de l'artiste. THE BRIDGE OF AUGUSTUS--NARNI. ITALY. The stream which flows through its pleasant valley, and the olive plantations which shade the mount on which it stands, with the deep secluded quiet of the spot, have something peculiarly striking in them, which requires not the additional attractions of an antiquarian character, to draw his footsteps nearer to its site.
