"You are what you eat. " Ever feel that way? Like a hazelnut nonfat frappuccino with three extra shots and six (organic) sugars? Like a dripping double bacon cheeseburger? Like a stuffed baked potato? Like a gooey cinnamon bun? Sure, we're digusted with donuts, mortified by muffins, appalled by andouille, quits with quesadillas and quiche, and revolted by ramen. We make it through the day revved by Red Bull and dine on deli deliveries. And eating better is all but impossible. Keto? Adkins? Paleo? South Beach? Southern Peach? Which is best? Without a personal shopper and a chef-- and a cleanup crew for the kitchen--to eat the way we should, we'd be spending every waking hour shopping, cooking, and packing meals for the next day. We just don't have that kind of time. Sad, but true. We would have to give up everything else- everything- in order to eat the way that we should. And since we just can't, healthier eating will remain a pie in the sky. For now, it will have to wait. But we vow to look for a healthier deli. Life is too busy, right? No! Life is too short! We know this, deep inside. And on the outside. We look in the mirror, and see not the glow of health, but of puffiness of pastries alternating with protein powder. Old habits die hard. Unless they kill you first. It's actually amazingly simple. Eat like Grandma and Grandpa did! Switch to real food. Eliminate salt and sugar. And do it all with less time in the kitchen than we're spending in line at restaurants or waiting for the Grubhub driver. In a few pages, we'll invite you to radically change how you think about food and how you eat. The table is set, and we'll take care of the cooking and the cleanup. Join us!
