Written by top experts and richly illustrated it is a challenging but also rewarding reading for anyone interested in any aspect of the Celtic world. Especially valuable: relating the Celts to the other cultural spheres, e.g., of the Mediterranean Antiquity and Early Christianity. Valuable also as a source of information for in-depth studies - an excellent hand-book. I particularly appreciated discussion of the Celtic pre-urban and quasi-urban forms in Central Europe.
