THE PAST: The background of the story begins as WWII is Ending for Japan - August, 1945: Yellow Sea . . . Japan's troops are evacuating all of China. Commander Ozawa is tasked with transporting gold and jewels looted from China's mainland on his destroyer KAGA-5505, when he learns that b oth Atomic Bombs have been dropped on Japan. Upon hearing Emperor Hirohito's radio broadcast that Japan has lost the war, he explodes the destroyer KAGA, sinking the looted gold treasures into the Abyss. MODERN DAY: Bohai Xiang, a well-known Kite-surfer and Treasure Hunter uses a WWII diary, to search for the sunken Japanese Destroyer with his estranged wife, Meifeng, to no avail. As Bohai and Meifeng team up to search for more clues to locate the treasure, they are attacked by the Black Ops Agents sent by a rouge organization. When the situation grows out of control, they are forced to escape to a hideaway in the Shandong Mountains. There they join forces with Meifeng's Uncle, Colonel Longwei, a Chinese Special Forces Expert, as the Thriller gets increasingly dangerous. Unfortunately, Hanna finds them with her operatives and again attempts to kill them and take the ring and diary. Hanna is wounded by Longwei, but escapes. Longwei hides them in a safe house in Qingdao and Meifeng discovers that the Banking Cartel is the real problem pursuing them. Hanna, then attacks the Safe House. Bohai is wounded, but he and Meifeng escape thanks to Uncle Gui Longwei and his girlfriend, DAIYU TING. After the Safe House attack, Bohai, seriously injured, realizes Meifeng's importance to him, signs the divorce papers she been demanding, then heads to the sunken destroyer location with help from JIANG, an old military friend of Longwei. Haughton gets a Chinese Coast Guard Commandant to place Dadong Dao Island into a Restriction Zone. At the wreck site, Hanna finally confronts her nemesis, but is killed in her vicious fight with Daiyu. At last, Bohai and Meifeng find the treasure wreck, just as it falls off its shelf into the fathomless deep. With no bullion left for them to recover, Haughton and VanBoveen's plot fails and the Bankers silently disappear from the scene. In the end, Bohai and Meifeng find the Gold treasure vaults.
