Good+ Rare. Red Victorian cloth cover with gilt embossment is frayed at corners and spine caps with bumped corners and light soiling but bright and in good+ condition. Boards and spine are straight. Binding is tight except one signature which is held by a single stitch. Antiquated bookplate and gift inscription on front end sheet dated 1871 to George Churchill Thacher from his Uncle Charles. Thacher was one of the most prominent Freemasons of Massachusetts. Frontispiece protected by tissue. Pages are toned but clean and very good.
