The book is a set of essays on the first-century environment of Acts. It fills in blanks in the knowledge of most of us, as it covers all sorts of aspects of ancient history that aren't covered in most school courses, even at the college level. It provides a wealth of information useful in understanding the historical, political and geographical background of Acts.
It would have been even better had it included maps with each essay to help see graphically what each writer was saying.
