Seller's Description:
Very Good. 1923. 136 pp. Hardcover without dust jacket, in Very Good condition. Corners and spine show minor wear, but look wonderful for their age. Edges and pages have some foxing, but the text is clear and readable. Association copy: J.J. Murray's (founder of the Virginia Society of Ornithology) inscription on front free endpaper (detailing how he was given a 5 dollar check in 1929, and used it to purchase this book) 9 color plates (including frontispiece of guillemot's eggs), and 59 drawings. The aim of this book is to illustrate biological ideas in reference to a particular group or class of animals.
