Â Illustrated by the noted British artist Charles Robinson in text throughout, as well as with twenty-eight full page coloured plates. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's full cloth binding with decorative gilt to the front board and spine. Externally rather worn with shelf wear and chipping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, minor marking to the rear board. The front joint is slightly strained, holding firm. The volume slightly tender. With a light foxing scattered throughout, particularly to the first and last few leaves. Illustrated by the noted British artist Charles Robinson in text throughout, as well as with twenty-eight full page coloured plates. Collated, complete. Â Good.

This work comprises of many classic fables including 'A Fox and a Leopard', 'A Frog and a Mouse', 'The Use of Knowledge' and 'A Hen and Golden Eggs'. In original red cloth binding. Externally, sound with slight rubbing to the head and tail of spine. Loss at head and tail of spine due to rubbing. Bumping to the extremities. Spine has faded. Tide mark to front board due to spillage and marks to rear board. Front hinge is weak, resulting in first few gatherings to loosen. Rear hinge is also quite tender. Internally, binding is weak. Pages are generally bright with instances of scattered spots throughout. Good.

Frontispiece illustration has been removed, however all of the other 27 color plates and approximately 100 black and white illustrations are all present and in nice shape.
