Biblical Criticism in its widest sense consists of forming and Cxpressing judgments on such matters as the books to be included in the Bible, the exact contents of such books, their date, authorship, and manner of composition, the character of their contents, whether prose or verse, whether history, parable, symbolic narrative, or apocalypse. We may say a word or two as to the various branches of criticism. The first point to decide about the Bible is the books to be included in it, or the Canon.
