This single-disc compilation captures the best of Kris Kristofferson's recordings for the Columbia label better than its American or Canadian counterparts. While it goes into far more detail than the single-disc collection that has long been the standard,, it doesn't get bogged down in the filler that exists on the Essential Kris Kristofferson double-disc set either, happy to walk a far more potent and widely brushed line between them.
