A major pianist, vibraphonist, and drummer-percussionist, Victor Feldman gradually switched from straight-ahead jazz to studio work during the 1960s. The Generation Band was Feldman's main vehicle on his solo records from his final decade. The music performed by that group was generally played by top studio musicians, with equal elements of jazz and pop, and could be both melodic and lightweight.
