Though a stranger? Certainly, Madam. Well, I must say, then, that I think it your duty to put these things in printed form for the help of tourists. You were born here; your father was in the fight your account to us shows that you are familiar with the incidents of the fight and with the men who fought it you say that you are the oldest person living born on this spot; it seems to me, really, your duty to reduce your information to writing and give it to us, who are younger, before your sun goes down. And, Sir, may your sunset be yet far off Please, what was the war of 1812 about 2 Yes, yes, they all said, we know nothing about it. I told them briefly. It was all genially, gently, handsomely said. I have taken it to thought, and I dedicate this little booklet to the gentle tourist who laid the injunction 011 me to v rite it.
