BOOK BROUGHT ME BACK TO THE 1980S!!!!
Best book ever and author put all 3 seasons into one book. I loved going back to the great simple times of that amazing era. It is so realistic too and the author brings out the individual personalities soooo well. The book is a dating story of half Irish/half Italian Johnny and his girlfriend of 100 percent American Sicilian. Which is a main part of the book being of their families and friends being Italian in the upper class suburbs of Chicago.I really liked the whole 80s experience- the clothes music arcades friendships their battles of capture the flag the amusement park that Johnny worked at - the Italian mob gangsters - the cars - clubs - wine coolers - martial arts - their whole world based in 1983 to 1985 as teens. And their marriage doing the opposite of everyone with their own amazing apartment and the parents blessing being of Italian Sicilian heritage which getting married as teens is normal in Sicily. The book gave me so much peace, a getaway from these bad times. I really don't think the book is fiction. It is too detailed. I think the author put fiction in to protect the characters which are probably real. That is my review on this exciting peaceful happy positive uplifting and MOTIVATIONAL book. Joyce
