This is the best treatment of Franklin's bio that has circulated for two centuries. The problem is there were several copies of it that had some major differences in reporting what he wrote. LeMay, one of the greatest Franklin scholar's examined all of them and gave us the entire record so historians can correctly decide what to quote on what he actually wrote as best can be determined since we can't ask Ole Ben now what did you say?
