On Pedro's first day of work, attempting to carry a very fat and aggressive tourist, he struggles. He is too small and weak to carry the tourist's weight. When the tourist abuses Pedro, he fights back. His mother begs him to run away and find a better life. He escapes, promising that he will return for her. Pedro meets a little girl while he is eating flowers outside a florist shop. She convinces her grandfather to let the donkey live with them. One day, Pedro stops a bank robbery.
