A wonderful paranormal series mixing magic and romance in a very balanced way. Neither takes precedence over the other so it's a good story for both the paranormal adventure reader and the romance lover.
Set in an alternate world where magic is acknowledge and the creatures of myth are not myth after all, Tempting Danger centers around Lily Yu, a San Diego homicide police officer, and Rule Turner, a prince of a lupi clan - the politically correct term for werewolves - as they work together to find out why lupi clans are being framed in a series of violent lupi-human murders.
The story is very well written, exciting and fast paced. It really doesn't slow down or cool off - and neither does Lily and Rule's attraction for each other.
Initially, the reader might feel like they're missing out on something because the story makes many references to things the reader has no idea about. It feels like you should have read a story before this one to be filled in about everything. But this is the first book in the series and eventually everything is explained and starts making sense. Just keep reading and don't be put off.
Overall, a wonderful book. I found myself quickly picking up the second book in the series to read more about the adventures of Lily and Rule.
