But what was it that drove Rachael to commit the crime that she did? What in her life lead Rachael down such a path of violence, blood, and destruction? THE DEFRANCISCO SISTERS "Come on over," - Margaret DeFranciscoThose were the words that Margaret spoke to her sister's suitor, Oscar Velazquez, before he arrived at their mother's home and she shot him for $600. The murder made national headlines when the two "angel faced" girls lured Oscar into their home, shooting him to death then setting his body on fire with nail polish remover. Following the murder, the two sisters went on the run, avoiding capture for two years. MARLENE OLIVE Marlene Olive was the instigator in the double murder of her parents in 1975. The killings were referred to in the press as the barbecue murders as the sixteen-year-old Marlene and her twenty-year old boyfriend disposed of her parent's bodies in a barbecue pit in a state park. Her boyfriend, Chuck Riley would be tried as an adult and sentenced to life imprisonment. Marlene would be tried as a juvenile and released at the age of twenty-one. ALYSSA BUSTAMANTE The picture didn't fit. On the surface, Alyssa Bustamante was a pretty fifteen year old girl who excelled in school. Behind closed doors, however, Alyssa was a deeply disturbed teenager with fantasies about killing someone. Her social media pages and diaries all painted the portrait of someone with an insatiable to desire to inflict pain onto the world. Her murderous impulses increasing by the day, Alyssa dug two graves in the woods outside her home and waited...Waited for the perfect victim. On October 21, 2009, she found one. TYLAR WITT Tylar Witt lived in an upscale neighborhood in El Dorado Hills, California with her forty seven year old single mother, Joanne Witt. Joanne worked for the county as an assistant engineer for the Department of Transportation and they lived in an elegant house in a nice gated community. Tylar was a fourteen year old girl who was entering her freshman year at Oak Ridge High School. She was described as a sweet girl when she was growing up. Her mother paid for riding lessons and they liked to stay at home and watch movies and cook, but as Tylar grew up, the behavioral problems began and the fights between the mother and daughter turned into physical altercations. Tylar was turning into a different person, she was becoming a monster. MELINDA LOVELESS In 1992, 12-year-old Shanda Sharer was tortured and killed by four teenage girls led by Melinda Loveless. Caught in a lesbian love triangle, the four girls would torture the young Shanda and burn her alive. The case would shock the picturesque town in southern Indiana and make national headlines, making an entire nation ask "why?"
