E non sappiamo se sono essi, i personaggi, a manipolarle a loro piacere, barando al gioco, o se sono le regole stesse che, falsificandosi, si fanno beffa dei personaggi. Tutto sembra casuale e al tempo stesso ineludibile: deve avvenire esattamente cosi', e tu non sai perch???. Sono, quei personaggi che giocano su una scacchiera di parole e silenzi, bambini: gli ultimi discendenti del giovane Edipo, che divertendosi a riscrivere un indovinello, precipita verso l'annullamento di s???. Anch'essi agiscono all'ombra di un enigma, e con infantile incoscienza scivolano verso il nulla. Che coincide con la chiusura del sipario (proprio con la parola "sipario"), anch'essa insensata e necessaria: il gioco deve finire si, ma perch??? non prima e non dopo, perch??? proprio a quel punto? Questa sospensione nel vuoto - un non-essere da cui i personaggi e le loro storie emergono e prendono forma"umana"e per il breve tempo della rappresentazione consistono, e in cui infine si dissolvono - ??? il segno pi??? forte e personale della poetica di de Baggis: un restare in bilico fra due abissi che ti coinvolge e sconvolge, sradicandoti dal tuo consueto ruolo di spettatore e lettore, per tirarti dentro nel cuore di un mistero. Avevo annotato, leggendo Figura, questa riflessione: i personaggi assumono maschere diverse, cangianti, come celebrassero un rito antico intorno a un dio assente, il protagonista ignoto. E quello che accade in scena ??? il precipitato, la labile concrezione di qualcosa che ??? fuori e in scena non appare. Come nella caverna di Platone, la realt??? ??? altrove: davanti ai nostri occhi si muovono, con il magico artificio di una danza, proiezioni di altre storie, spiriti vaganti di altre vite. Lemuri. E sopra di essi avverti la mano di un marionettista che, invisibile a tutti, si diverte a imbrogliare e disbrogliare i fili. Chi ??? costui? Le mie note a margine mi suggeriscono: la morte per Figura, la violenza per Il guantone, l'eros per Fallo. Ma ??? troppo semplice, una falsa traccia. Anche questa astratta realt??? (eros, violenza, morte) sono finzioni, ombre di qualcosa che vive fuori dallo spazio e dal tempo della rappresentazione: in verdi giardini odorosi di una verginit??? perduta, lunari lungomare, vicoli di quartieri cittadini risonanti di voci antiche. O stanze adiacenti che, come in Fallo, risucchiano e fagocitano i personaggi: per restituirceli (cosi' in Tre civette sul como') scissi in uno schizofrenico Giano dai tre volti, sospeso sull'orlo dell'estinzione. E in Vento del sud ecco lo "scivolar via" del tempo e il non riconoscersi pi???. O riconoscersi troppo (La signora ??? una vagabonda): la vita ci assedia e ferisce con i suoi fuochi d'artificio, i condomini ostili e i sorci di fogna, e bisogna cercare scampo in un domestico tabernacolo dove la memoria finalmente si dissolve. E' appena un brivido, ma ormai la finzione si ??? incrinata e la verit??? di quei poveri esseri, la loro innocenza, traspare nel piede nudo della donna che fugge (Scarpe), nei bambini non nati o malati (Voci di quartiere), nello sguardo truffaldino rivolto alla morte ormai familiare (Pianissimo), nella ninna-nanna che chiude il crescendo di violenza in Storia al biliardo. In Notte e Nebbia l'irrompere della realt??? nel tempo fiabesco della rappresentazione ??? tragico e squassante, e il riscatto del personaggio dalla sua condanna alla casualit???, definitiva. Il gioco delle ombre si ribalta nel suo opposto: la carne e il sangue della persona, la piet???.
