From a parent's perspective this book could be summarized as a "how to" manual for how year 1 of an ABA program should look. It details the programs that should be included, how these programs should be taught and mistakes that should be avoided when delivering them. In addition, the book is specific about the order in which each of these programs should be taught. At the time of the publishing of the book, Lovaas already had over 30 years of experience of working with children with developmental delays and this is evident as he sometimes touches on past incorrect assumptions about children with an ASD. My only criticism of the book would be that most of the focus is on year 1 of an ABA program."; 10.9 X 8.5 X 1.1 inches; 429 pages.
