First of all, it's hard to produce a convincing tribute album, even if everyone involved is sincere in their sentiments, but it is true that a couple of teamings, such as Elton John's "Stand By Your Man" and Melissa Etheridge's "Apt. 9," were not the best of ideas. Fortunately, such songs as Rosanne Cash's "D.I.V.O.R.C.E.," George Jones' "Take Me to Your World," K.T. Oslin's "Your Good Girl's Gonna Go Bad" and Faith Hill's "'Til I Can Make It On My Own" pay tribute to Tammy's original performance by offering a vibrant new interpretation.
