Treat Williams stars in the season opener "None but the Lonely Heart," playing a gigolo whose past history of murdering old women for their money literally comes back to haunt him. This episode, together with the subsequent "This'll Kill Ya" and "On a Deadman's Chest," was originally presented as part of a 90-minute special. The rest of the season follows the standard story-per-week format, beginning with "Séance," starring Ben Cross and Cathy Moriarity in a malevolent morality play about crooked lawyers and a restless, revenge-seeking spirit. A few weeks later, Christopher Reeve stars in "What's Cookin'," in which a greasy spoon greatly increases its clientele by adding a sinister special ingredient to their barbecue sauce. Like season 3, season 4 offers even more peak crypt. Continuing the formula of a mix of tales giving us some of the most memorable episodes in the entire series. Arguably the greatest episode ever made "What's Cookin'" comes with a commentary audio track as well. With other all time greats such as "The New Arrival" "Seance" and "Split Personality" Also offering up the what I consider the most overlooked and under rated western set episode "Showdown" We also are offered Timothy Dalton fresh out of the 007 contract in the superb "Werewolf Concerto" Season 4 may arguably be better than season 3, but between the two, both 3 and 4 are the show in its prime.
