There is plenty of variety on bassist John Goldsby's quartet set. With strong playing from pianist Bill Mays, altoist Andy Fusco, and drummer Terry Clarke, Goldsby explores such numbers as Charles Mingus' driving "O.P.," a solo bass rendition of "Twilight Time," "Tricotism," and Duke Ellington's always catchy "Pitter Panther Patter."
