From this experience, which is the raw material of religion in general, it passes to the religion, Christianity: to 'Christ from the Bigger World', to man and God's historic reconciliation of a sinful human race in Christ, to the business of 'living in the Bigger World', and then to the Christian hope of life everlasting. Chapters on Christian prayer, life-style and commitment round off the book. The author's chief hope is not only to help the ordinary Christian to give a reason for the faith that is in him, but also to reach the honest enquirer, not yet committed, who wishes to know how Christian faith can illumine the mystery of the world and to show how God, as revealed in Christ, means us all to live.
